The proposed Haverstraw to Yonkers to Lower Manhattan Ferry route has moved forward and could be operating as soon as May 2006. The ferry will be a similar experience to taking an hour long flight. The length of the trip from Haverstraw to the World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan (across the street from the World Trade Center), would be around 65 minutes. This is faster than any other type of travel to Lower Manhattan during rush hour times. The Journal News ran the story this morning.
Apparently, if Water Taxi is chosen in March as the Ferry Provider, CNN and Bloomberg Television will be shown on flat screens during the trip to Lower Manhattan. A coffe bar will also be on-board. This is incredible, I can’t wait!
