The proposed Haverstraw to Yonkers to Lower Manhattan Ferry has been approved and is expected to begin sailing in the Spring of 2007. New York Water Taxi has been selected by the Port Authority of New York to provide ferry service between the three ports. The service is described in the post below, “High Tech Commute From Haverstraw?” Read more about the Haverstraw Ferry here.

The Ferry will begin service from Yonkers this month (April 2007)! Service will be expanded to Haverstraw within the next three months, probably around the end of July.
The Ferry begins on May 1

The ferry, from the way it sounds, is on schedule. And, it looks like there will be some good updates to the landing!
Another update, confirming the new service will begin on August 1st! http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070714/NEWS01/707140356

The NYC ferry (Water Taxi) drops off at the Yonkers Pier, the World Financial Center, and Pier 11 Wall Street. The sites nearby in Lower Manhattan are, of course, Wall Street, the World Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, and Battery Park.
